The Summary Section
That which the world venerates, the guardian of the world always pays homage to;
This excellent Dispensation of the best of men should be known by the wise.
The discourse has twelve terms, all that - both phrasing and meaning;
Both should be cognized - what is the meaning, which is the phrasing?
The Guide has sixteen guides, five methods - the search for the Dispensation;
Eighteen root terms, pointed out by Mahākaccāna.
The guides are the investigation of phrasing, the three methods of the discourse and the meaning of the discourse;
Both are comprehended - it is called a discourse according to the discourse.
Both the Teaching and what is taught should be cognized;
Therein this is the sequence - the ninefold search for discourses.
